Phylogeny and taxonomic revision of the Amazonian clade of Nautilocalyx Linden (Gesneriaceae).
Project summary:
The genus Nautilocalyx (Gesneriaceae) has about 50 species spreading from Central America to central Brazil. Recent studies have indicated that the group is non-monophyletic. The genus has at least 6 different clades, and one of these lineages, named “Nautilocalyx Amazonian clade”, includes the Brazilian species. This project intends to study this clade of Nautilocalyx, increase the sampling of taxa, carry out a taxonomic review of this group, and produce a phylogeny using both molecular and morphological characters.
