Predicting cytotypes´ distribution of the endemic Paspalum cromyorrhizon Trin. ex Döll in the face of climate change

Project summary:

This project aims to collect new specimens for local herbaria, compare the current climatic niche and geographic extent of P. cromyorrhizon` cytotypes; and determine how climate change will affect the geographic ranges of each cytotype in order to identify priority conservation areas of this endemic species. This grant would help cover the costs associated with plant collection, visiting herbaria in Argentina and Brazil, and the postage of leaf samples requested from US herbaria, in order to examine older collections and complete the ploidy register of the species.
