Phylogenomic analysis of the tribe Gouanieae and taxonomic revision of the South
American species of Gouania (Rhamnaceae)
Project summary:
The pantropical tribe Gouanieae (Rhamnaceae) includes seven genera and ~75 species, but its phylogeny remains unresolved. Gouania, the largest genus, lacks a comprehensive taxonomic revision, with many misidentified specimens in herbaria. This project will use high-throughput sequencing and morphology to clarify relationships, test monophyly, infer divergence times, and revise Gouania in South America.
