Phylogeny, Taxonomy, and Phytochemical Diversity of Eriogonum subgenus Ganysma with a focus on the E. deflexum Complex (Polygonaceae)
Project summary:
I study a group of Eriogonum with downward-pointing flowers, known as the E. deflexum complex (subgenus Ganysma). Preliminary results suggest the complex is not monophyletic as taxa with deflexed flowers resolve in separate clades. I am also exploring the phytochemistry of the E. deflexum complex in a phylogenetic context.
