Taxonomic Revision, Molecular Phylogeny, and Biogeography of Cordia sect. Superbiflorae (Cordiaceae, Boraginales)

Project summary:

This project aims to conduct an integrated taxonomic revision of Cordia sect. Superbiflorae, a Brazilian endemic group with unresolved taxonomic boundaries. Morphological, anatomical and palynological evidence will be combined with molecular phylogenetic and biogeographic analyses to clarify species diversity, evolutionary relationships, distribution patterns and conservation status, based on fieldwork and the study of specimens from national and international herbaria.
