Using phylogenomics to solve another piece of the Vernonieae puzzle: Systematic studies in the Stilpnopappus Alliance (Asteraceae, Vernonieae).

Project summary:

This proposal aims to carry out a phylogenomic study of the five Neotropical genera belonging to the Stilpnopappus Alliance (Asteraceae, Vernonieae). The objective is to test the monophyly of the five genera, elucidate the relationships within the mega tribe Vernonieae and reveal the patterns of evolutionary diversification in the Neotropical region.
