Composition and structure of dry forest plants, in altitudinal gradient and correlation with Fauna (birds and landsnails) in fragmented landscape.

Project summary:

The dry forest is one of the most threatened ecosystem in Nicaragua, also is the one with more pressure on. The assembly of vegetation on this ecosystem is affected by the constant dynamics of habitat disturbances; such us changes in the matrix of animals and changes in vegetation influenced by land use. Normally studies are conducted to know the tree structure with emphasis on useful trees and little is studied what is happening in the understory. The understory is possibly the one that is keeping, the fauna of this ecosystem so disturbed and little is known about the dynamics of plant popula
