Paepalanthus subg. Platycaulon Mart. ex Körn. (Eriocaulaceae): Taxonomy, Phylogeny and Biogeography

Project summary:

This study reviews the Andean species of Paepalanthus subg. Platycaulon (Eriocaulaceae), investigating species complexes to resolve taxonomic uncertainties. A phylogenetic analysis will infer evolutionary relationships and test biogeographic hypotheses regarding the disjunct distribution between Brazil and the Andes, with emphasis on historical connectivity and dispersal patterns.
