Unravelling the taxonomy and evolutionary history of the cryptic species Hymenophyllum sturmii

Project summary:

Six fern species of Hymenophyllum subg. Mecodium C.Presl ex Copel. are recognized in the Atlantic Forest, including the cryptic Hymenophyllum sturmii Bosch. Through phylogeographic, morphometric, and cytogenetic approaches, we aim to investigate Mecodium taxonomic and evolutionary relationships in the Atlantic Forest, which will provide insights into conservation and better delimitation between specie.
