Phylogeny of the Neotropical genus Malanea Aubl. (Rubiaceae)

Project summary:

Malanea is a genus from the coffee family without confirmed monophyly due the low sampled in the previously several phylogenetic studies. The aim of this project is to conduct a robust phylogenetic analysis to clarify the circumscription of Malanea and the relationship within the tribe Guettardeae, which remain under discussion. For this purpose, we included more than 70% of the genus. DNA extractions, library preparation and target capture of 353 nuclear genes will be using the Angiosperms353 probe. The phylogenetic reconstruction will be performed using Bayesian Inference.
