Study of the evolution of morphological characters and floral ontogeny in Protium Burm. f. (Burseraceae) in Brazil

Project summary:

Determining the patterns of morphological and phylogenetic evolution of Protium could help to better understand the evolution of this taxon, which corresponds to a complex of several species with great morphological variation and a wide geographical distribution. Morphometric, ontogenetic, and phylogenetic reconstruction studies will be carried out. This study will serve to understand the patterns of morphological variation found in these species and their evolution over time, to provide support for more effective conservation actions for the genus and its habitat, as well as helping to better
