The evolution of wind dispersion in Asteraceae
Project summary:
We aim to study the relationship between morphological variation in fruit phenotype and wind dispersion ability in Asteraceae within a phylogenetic framework. Using bibliography, field and herbarium data of the family, on morphometric traits and biomechanical parameters, using the comparative method in order to answer the question if wind dispersion within the family has evolved following different and multiple adaptation optima.
