Diversity, taxonomy and phylogeny of Stereaceae (Russulales, Basidiomycota) from Atlantic forest in Brazil.

Project summary:

Fungi are a key group of organisms that interact with other organisms and the abiotic environment to regulate ecosystem processes. Among various groups in that kingdom, there is one, the corticoid fungi. Among the corticiod fungi is the Stereaceae, a family whose taxonomy and diversity is poorly known and the phylogenetic relationships of its members is uncertain. In order to understand morphological features delimitations and species boundaries, we will analyze morphological, ecological and molecular data. We expected to update Stereaceae species from Brazil.
