Systematics of the indigenous Hibiscus L. (Malvaceae) in South Africa.

Project summary:

This study revises the taxonomy of indigenous Hibiscus species using micro-morphological, molecular and traditional methods to refine species classification. By clarifying evolutionary relationships and species delineations of the Hibiscus species, it enhances biodiversity knowledge, supports conservation efforts and provides a foundation for informed strategies against environmental challenges.
