Molecular phylogeny and biogeography of Anthurium section Pachyneurium (Araceae)

Project summary:

Anthurium sect. Pachyneurium (Schott) Engl. is one of the 20 sections of the genus, and a recent study based on phylogenetic analyses recognized, as non-monophyletic Pachyneurium section. In this context, with a total of 60 species of Neotropics, including 19 occurring in Brazil, based on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), will enable a new and broader analysis of the classification of the genus Anthurium, contribute, particularly, to the knowledge of the diversity, biogeography and ecological processes that guided the diversification of Pachyneurium species.
