Phylogenomics and diversification of the genus Securidaca L. (Polygalaceae)
Project summary:
The genus Securidaca comprises approximately 60 species, primarily in the neotropical region. Despite some phytochemical and floristic studies, there is a lack of systematic research on the group. The limited sampling in phylogenetic studies, with only five species assessed, makes it difficult to determine if the genus is monophyletic. This project aims to fill this gap with morphological and phylogenetic analyses using NGS to understand the genus's structure and identify its main groups.
