Biogeographic studies in Zornia J.F.Gmel. (Leguminosae: Papilionoideae) in the Neotropics: evolutionary transitions between biomes and evolution of morphological characters
Project summary:
The present study aims to generate a densely sampled molecular phylogeny to investigate the transition between biomes and the evolution of morphological characters in Zornia. The specific objectives of the work are 1. Examine evolutionary patterns of distribution in Zornia; 2. Discuss the evolution of important morphological characters in Zornia. This project will be developed by applying a high-throughput, genome skimming technique to sequence the samples’ DNA.
