PHYLOGENOMIC RECONSTRUCTION AND TAXONOMIC DELIMITATION OF CARIBBEAN JUNIPERUS (CUPRESSACEAE)
Project summary:
Species delimitation in Caribbean Juniperus is complicated due to limited morphological variability. While molecular studies have included most taxa described for the Caribbean, they have included limited markers (ITS, RAPDs, SNPs), and the generated data have not been analyzed with the current and powerful phylogenetic tools. We aim at the (1) phylogenomic reconstruction of Caribbean Juniperus using whole genome sequencing data, and (2) delimitation of taxa based on genomic evidence integrated with morphological and biogeographic data.
