3.To upgrade the botanical collection of ferns species of Forest Herbarium Jos {FHJ]
4.To send the copies of the prepared Type samples to the national herbarium for reference and conservation purposes.

March - April - Collection/ preparation of herbarium sample in South Western Nigeria
June - July - Collection /preparation of herbarium sample in North Central Nigeria
August - September - Collection /preparation of herbarium sample in Northern Nigeria
October,2023 - End of new collections; data cleaning, processing and Digitization of
herbarium information
November ,2023 - Uploading of digital data to FRIN website
December ,2023 - Submission of project report to IAPT manuscript for publication

Plan:
1.Digitzation: All prepared herbarium sheets will be scanned and digital images and other information shall be documented in a spreadsheet.
2. Preparation of herbarium voucher: The collected samples will follow standard herbarium techniques such as: Pressing/drying, poisoning/Preservation, mounting, documentation, shelving etc.
3.Upgrading :New samples shall be added to the herbarium through extensive field collection across Nigeria.
4. Transfer of duplicate type specimens: Duplicate type specimens shall be prepared and sent to relevant index herbaria
