Objective:
1. Make available the lichen collection on biodiversity database and the Consortium of Lichen Herbaria through the digitalization, inventory and catalogue.
2. Create an image bank for the type material and the most relevant collection through photographs and scans
3. Improve the technical capabilities of the LUTI herbaria for the general curation of the collection (assembly, preservation, cataloging and digitization)
4. Training students in scientific collection management activities

Considering the development of the project from June to November:

In order to achieve the objectives, the main activities to develop in the next months are:
- Process backlog lichen specimens (almost 2000 samples). Complete the mounting, digitization, cataloging and georeferencing of specimens already deposited and of new collections that need the corresponding treatment for its conservation and visibility.
- Continue updating the catalog of specimens at GBIF and Consortium of Lichen Herbaria.
- Photograph at least 500 specimens, specially the Type material and rare specimens and make records available.
The grant will be invested in:
1) Improve the current conditions of the botanical material deposited.
2) Facilitate the instruments for photographs the specimens.
3) Provide manpower in order to trainee students on herbaria activities.
