Objective:
The project aims to digitize 2,000 specimens, establishing the initial bases for foundation for the UCAM Herbarium database, and to scan 1,500 specimens, providing high-quality images that enhance accessibility to specimen information. Furthermore, a workshop on herbarium techniques will be conducted for undergraduate and graduate students, promoting the importance and activities of the UCAM Herbarium, and fostering interest in botany. • April 2025 - April 2026: Digitization of 2,000 specimens from the UCAM Herbarium collection.
• April 2025 - August 2026: Scanning of 1,500 specimens to enhance access to specimen information through high-quality images.
• July 2025: Workshop on herbarium techniques for undergraduate, graduate students, and interested members of the public.
• October 2026: Submission of scanned specimen data to the Mexican Herbaria Network and SEINet Portal Network platform for public dissemination.

Specimen information will be recorded in an Excel spreadsheet using the Darwin Core (DwC) standard format. The digitization of 1,500 specimens will adhere to the criteria established by the Mexican Herbaria Network for participation in the SEINet Portal Network platform, ensuring standardized image acquisition for online dissemination. The workshop will be held at the Flora Laboratory and Herbarium. It will consist of a theoretical session and a practical session for the demonstration and execution of herbarium techniques by the participants. These activities will be conducted with the support of one herbarium technician and under the supervision of the UCAM Herbarium Manager.
