The Engler Medal in Gold is the most prestigious award conferred by the International Association for Plant Taxonomy. It is given every six years at the International Botanical Congress. The Engler Medal in Gold is awarded in recognition of outstanding lifetime contributions to taxonomy and systematics of plants, algae, or fungi. The first award was given in 1987 and in 2024 IAPT will confer the seventh Engler Medal in Gold. Information about IAPT awards can be found on the IAPT website: https://www.iaptglobal.org/awards.
